INFINITUM launches its Callaway High Performance Centre
- The INFINTIUM Golf Academy incorporates improvements and a significant investment in state-of-the-art technology aimed at offering world-class classes
- The inauguration took place within the framework of the first Infinitum Callaway Tournament that has been played at the Lakes golf course and in which more than 100 players have participated.
Barcelona, 28 August 2023. INFINITUM, the high-end resort located on the Costa Dorada and a European benchmark for elite professional and amateur golfers, has further strengthened its reputation with the addition of the INFINTIUM Golf Academy and a new Callaway High Performance Center.
The center will guide golfers through a complete fitting service for each club in their bag, using technology such as OptiFit to select the perfect head, rod and weight. Callaway Performance Centers track factors such as swing speed, spin rates, and throw angles to determine the best fit for each individual, offering the same level of service and detail that a senior professional would receive.
Complementing the resort’s trio of golf courses and practice facilities, the center will be the third in Spain to combine Swing Catalyst software with balance plate technology. This system promises to provide infinitely comprehensive information to golfers looking for their perfect clubs.

THE FIRST CALLAWAY TOURNAMENT
To celebrate the grand opening of the center, INFINITUM Lakes Course has hosted the complex’s first Callaway tournament this Saturday, August 26, in which more than 100 players participated. Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to test the new fitting facilities, while teams of two players faced the course designed by Greg Norman. There were also prizes for the longest drive and a contest of shots near the hole, as well as a raffle of gifts to round off the day.
Lakes is a design by Greg Norman with 18 holes that surround the wetlands of the Sèquia Major, a protected natural area full of water obstacles. As Joaquín Mora Bertrán, Director of Golf at INFINITUM, explains, “as the name suggests, water is a very present danger on the course, and the bunkers and undulating greens make Lakes an outstanding experience”.
THE BEST GOLF CLUB IN EUROPE FOR THREE YEARS
INFINITUM has three golf courses, with 45 holes and two clubhouses. These world-class facilities have been considered the best in Europe at the World Golf Awards and are certified Golf Signature Sanctuary by Audubon International.
In addition, it is known among the European and world stars of the professional game as the venue for the final qualifying phase of the DP World Tour. Hopefuls compete on the two championship courses: the Hills Elevated Course, where narrow fairways and protected greens test the golfer’s strategic thinking; and the Lakes Course, a flat course where precision is key if golfers want to avoid natural water.
In fact, Sweden’s Alexander Björk has been flying high on the DP World Tour, following a week-long training visit at INFINITUM in March. The 33-year-old has finished six times in the top ten in 11 appearances since his visit, without missing a single cut, and has risen to 8th in the Race to Dubai standings after finishing in the top 50 at July’s Open Championship.
The nine-hole Ruins course, a fun and challenging experience around Roman archaeological remains, is a favorite of golfers and is considered one of the best nine-hole courses in the world.
INFINITUM has two driving ranges, short game practice areas and three putting greens, as well as video tracking technology, Flightscope and Sam Putt Lab. Together, the resort is equipped to test and develop every aspect of a golfer’s game, with experienced professionals on hand to oversee the process.
These world-class facilities have also led two major national amateur federations to choose INFINITUM as the perfect location for a winter training camp, in which budding young stars from the Finnish and Swiss golf federations have spent several weeks perfecting their game.
